I was wondering how tapped holes in powder coating work - does the powder coating prevent the hole from being tapped?
After cutting, we tap the holes, then move on to powder coating. Some powder coating will get into the tapped hole and onto the threads, so it may be necessary to do a quick clean up on the threads once you receive the parts.
If the tapped holes need to be perfect and free of powder, consider using insert hardware instead. Insert hardware (PEM fasteners) will be plugged/covered during the powder process to protect the threads.
